PEACE AND QUIET

As you may know, I live in Sardinia. It’s a magic island and the photo below probably matches most people’s perception of what it’s like.

The soft lull of the waves is very soothing and the endless horizon where the sky caresses the sea gives you a sense of being totally alone with your thoughts. I find this very conducive to writing and creativity in general.

The sea is not the only thing that Sardinia has to offer. The island is anything but densely populated, although this busy road seems to contradict what I have just said. There is a wild, rugged beauty about the mountains near Nuoro. You can often see the same proud ruggedness etched in the weather-beaten faces and muscular bodies of the local people. Here again you can immerse yourself in rapt contemplation of nature and let your imagination run wild.
